A few days ago, a young starling fell down my chimney behind my gas fire.  Fortunately despite my futile attempts to remove the built-in fireplace, after some time it managed to come through the gap where the fumes go out of the room.  I managed to catch it and calmed it down (its heart was thumping mad), checked that it was all well, then took it out to the garden for it to join its family.  Pretty beautiful little thing!  So very glad that it is not hurt.

Just imagine one day this beautiful bird will be involved in the wonderful mesmerising murmuration dance!
